  • Built-in DSC and GPS: Allows users to make DSC distress calls that automatically transmit their location using the integrated 48-channel GPS receiver. It also features a “Man Overboard” (MOB) function to record the location of an incident.
  • Float ‘n Flash: If the radio is dropped into the water, it floats face-up and activates an audible beep and a flashing LED light, making it easy to spot and retrieve. It is also rated IPX7 for submersible protection, meaning it can withstand being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
  • Active noise-canceling: The built-in, bi-directional active noise-canceling technology reduces background noise by up to 90% on both incoming and outgoing calls for clearer communication.
  • Loud audio: A large speaker and BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier deliver a powerful 700mW of audio output, ensuring that you can hear and be heard clearly even in a noisy maritime environment.
  • Intuitive interface: The new menu system features a dot-matrix display with soft-key functions, making it easy to navigate through various settings. A compass function is also available.
  • Battery life: With the supplied BP-275 lithium-ion battery pack, the radio provides approximately 8 to 10 hours of operating time, based on a typical 5:5:90 duty ratio.
  • Charging options: Includes both a desktop rapid charger (BC-205) and a cigarette lighter cable (CP-25 or OPC-254L) for convenient charging.
  • AquaQuake™: A draining function that uses vibrations to shed water from the speaker grille, restoring clear audio.
