Zartek ZA-720 Two-Way Radio

Description

The Zartek ZA-720 is a highly versatile, ultra-thin, and lightweight UHF handheld two-way radio engineered for reliable communication in medium-duty environments. It serves as a unique dual-purpose solution, providing license-free operation at 500mW out of the box, with the capability to be upgraded via software to a 2-watt licensed radio to significantly boost coverage. Fully approved by ICASA, it is a preferred tool for warehouses, hotels, outdoor events, hospitality, and security operations.

Features

KEY OPERATIONAL FEATURES
Dual RF Power Settings Supports selectable 500 mW (0.5 W) and 2 W transmission power settings. The lower-power setting is suitable for short-range communication, while the higher-power setting can provide extended coverage under suitable conditions. Frequency use and transmit power must comply with applicable ICASA authorisation requirements.
Voice Channel Announcements Audible voice prompts announce the selected channel when the rotary selector is adjusted. Allows users to change channels without looking at the radio, helping maintain attention during active duties.
Flexible Charging Options Supports charging through a compatible desktop charging cradle or the radio’s integrated Micro-USB port. Provides convenient charging options at the workplace, in vehicles or when travelling.
VOX & Channel Scanning Built-in controls provide access to Voice-Operated Transmission (VOX) and channel scanning functions. Adjustable VOX sensitivity supports hands-free communication with compatible accessories, while scanning helps users monitor programmed channels.
CTCSS & DCS Privacy Codes Provides 50 CTCSS and 210 DCS signalling codes to help separate communication groups and reduce unwanted audio from other users on shared channels. These codes provide selective squelch filtering rather than encrypted communication.
Optional PC Programming Supports configuration through compatible PC programming software and an optional 2-pin programming cable. Programmable functions include channel frequencies, squelch sensitivity (levels 0–9), Time-Out Timer (TOT) settings and supported alert functions. Frequency programming must remain within authorised operating parameters.
