Kenwood NX-1700 / NX-1800 Mobile Radio

Description

The Kenwood NX-1700/NX-1800 series redefines mobile fleet communication by offering unmatched protocol flexibility out of the box. True to Kenwood’s NEXEDGE engineering heritage, this mobile series features a customisable Multi-Protocol Architecture that allows operators to choose between NXDN digital or DMR Tier II digital configurations, alongside traditional analog FM.
The front panel is centered around a bright, high-contrast 7-color LED strip indicator and a customisable alphanumeric display that tracks caller IDs, channel groups, and text tags cleanly at a single glance. Pumping out up to 50 watts of transmit power (VHF), this series ensures crystal-clear clarity across vast communication footprints.

Features

KEY OPERATIONAL FEATURES
Multi-Protocol Communication Supports conventional analogue FM communication alongside a digital NXDN or DMR Tier II operating mode, depending on the selected configuration and software licensing. Provides a flexible upgrade path for organisations transitioning from analogue to digital radio systems.
7-Colour LED Indicator Customisable front-panel LED indicator supports seven colours: red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, magenta and white. Colours can be assigned to supported call notifications, operating conditions and alerts for convenient visual identification.
Advanced Digital Audio Processing Kenwood digital signal processing (DSP) helps improve voice clarity by reducing unwanted background noise. Designed to support clear communication in vehicles and demanding operational environments.
External GPS & Fleet Tracking Rear accessory interface supports integration with compatible external GPS equipment. When correctly configured with supported dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) software, the radio can assist with vehicle location reporting and fleet management.
Remote Stun, Kill & Revive Supports remote radio management functions, including Stun, Kill and Revive where enabled by the selected signalling protocol and system configuration. Helps administrators manage lost, stolen or unauthorised radio equipment.
Lone Worker & Emergency Alerts Programmable Lone Worker and emergency functions help support personnel safety. A configurable inactivity timer can initiate an alert sequence when a user fails to acknowledge the radio within a specified period, subject to programming and system capabilities.
