Icom IC-A120 VHF Air Band Mobile Transceiver

Description

The Icom IC-A120 is the ultimate communication hub for airport ground operations. Designed specifically for installation in airport service vehicles, shifters, fire trucks, and terminal base stations, this rugged transceiver handles extreme airport noise with ease. Equipped with a high-visibility full dot-matrix display, standard MIL-STD 810G engineering, and an IP54-rated weatherproof body, the IC-A120 provides reliable airside communication under any weather or operational conditions. With optional wireless Bluetooth integration and dual-voltage support, it bridges the gap between ground logistics and the tower flawlessly.

Features

KEY FEATURES
Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) Technology Built-in digital Active Noise Cancelling reduces ambient background noise by up to 40 dB. Helps filter out noise from jet engines, ground support vehicles and wind on incoming and outgoing transmissions, improving communication clarity in demanding aviation environments.
Automatic Noise Limiter (ANL) Automatically suppresses pulse-type electrical interference, including engine ignition noise, to improve received audio quality. ANC and ANL cannot be used simultaneously.
Optional Bluetooth Connectivity Supports optional Bluetooth wireless communication through the UT-133A Bluetooth Unit. Compatible with suitable third-party Bluetooth headsets and the Icom VS-3 Bluetooth Headset, allowing convenient hands-free operation.
Intelligent ON-Hook Scan Automatically initiates frequency scanning when the hand microphone is returned to its hanger. Removing the microphone stops scanning and returns the radio to the designated priority channel.
Dualwatch Function Allows monitoring of the operating channel and a priority channel, helping operators remain aware of important aviation communications.
Side Tone Functionality Built-in side tone allows operators to hear their own transmitted voice when using a compatible aviation headset connected through the optional OPC-871A Headset Adapter.
Base Station Conversion Can be configured for desktop base station operation using the optional Icom PS-80 DC Power Supply and SP-35 External Speaker, providing a practical fixed-location aviation communication solution.
