Icom IC-F5123D / IC-F6123D IDAS™ Digital Mobile Two-Way Radios

Description

The Icom IC-F5123D (VHF) and IC-F6123D (UHF) are professional-grade digital mobile transceivers designed for reliable business and commercial communication. Built for versatility, these radios support both analog and digital operation, offering an easy migration path from existing analog systems to Icom’s advanced IDAS™ digital platform, which is based on the NXDN™ Common Air Interface (CAI).

With their rugged design, clear digital voice quality, and flexible feature set, the IC-F5123D/F6123D radios are ideal for organizations that need dependable, long-range mobile communication — whether installed in vehicles or used as fixed base stations.

Features

  • Dual-mode operation: The IC-F5123D and IC-F6123D can detect and automatically reply to both analog and digital signals on a single channel, allowing for mixed-mode operation.
  • IDAS™ digital compatibility: These radios support NXDN™ digital operation, including multi-site conventional and single-site trunking capabilities. This allows for efficient use of a limited number of channels.
  • Rugged construction: Built with a tough aluminum die-cast chassis and polycarbonate front panel, the radios are tested to MIL-STD 810 F specifications for durability.
  • Clear audio: A powerful 4-watt front-facing speaker and digital modulation ensure clear, loud audio inside a vehicle’s cabin. An optional active noise-canceling microphone (HM-211) is available for extremely noisy environments.
  • Advanced signaling: In analog mode, the radios offer advanced signaling capabilities like 2-Tone, 5-Tone, CTCSS, DTCS, and limited MDC 1200 compatibility. Digital features include PTT ID, status messages, and selective calling.
  • Enhanced safety: Features such as Lone Worker and emergency signaling help ensure the safety of employees working alone or in high-risk situations. The radio can be programmed to send an emergency signal if it is not operated for a preset period.
  • GPS data transmission: With an optional accessory cable (OPC-2078) and an external GPS receiver, the radios can transmit accurate position data for vehicle management applications.
