The Icom IC-F8101 elevates long-range telecommunications by introducing upgraded Software-Defined processing architecture and an extraordinarily robust fan-cooled chassis capable of delivering 125 watts of continuous power at 100% duty cycle across all modes. To fit flawlessly into varied deployment scenarios, the radio is available in three physical configurations: a compact, space-saving all-in-one layout, a remote-head vehicular layout, and an ultra-rugged tactical desktop base station configuration. Backed by automated link intelligence, it ensures rapid and clear transmission of voice, digital data, fax messages, and long-range HF e-mails over thousands of kilometres.

ADVANCED OPERATIONAL & SAFETY FEATURES
125W Continuous-Duty RF Output Designed for demanding HF voice and data communication, delivering up to 125W Peak Envelope Power (PEP). A heavy-duty aluminium die-cast chassis and dual microprocessor-controlled cooling fans provide effective heat dissipation during extended operation.
Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) Built-in ALE supports FED-STD-1045 and MIL-STD-188-141B standards. Automatically evaluates HF channel conditions and selects suitable frequencies for establishing reliable communication between compatible stations.
Clear Talk Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Advanced digital signal processing helps reduce atmospheric noise and electrical interference, improving voice intelligibility and reception in challenging HF communication environments.
HF Data Communication Gateway Supports data transmission speeds of up to 2400 bps when equipped with the optional compatible HF data modem. Enables applications such as email, field reporting, mapping data exchange and telemetry when used with suitable external equipment and software.
Selective Calling (Selcall) Supports programmable 4-digit and 6-digit selective calling for individual and group communication. Compatible configurations may provide text paging, emergency alerts, status requests and remote radio control functions, including stun and kill commands.
External GPS Integration Supports connection to a compatible external GPS receiver through the radio’s accessory interface. Enables position information, including latitude, longitude, speed and heading, to be used with supported location reporting and mapping systems.
